FAQ in CNC turning

  • How to choose the pressing method of the tool bar?

    There are several ways to press the tool: P is to clamp with the central cylindrical pin of the blade, and the clamping methods include lever type, eccentric type, etc. Moreover, the products provided by various tool vendors do not necessarily include all Clamping method, so please refer to product samples when choosing. Each clamping method is suitable for different forms of blades. For example, non-porous blades are commonly used for upward pressure (C type), and ceramic, cubic boron nitride and other blades are commonly used for this clamping method. The D and M models have reliable clamping and are suitable for occasions with large cutting forces, such as harsh processing conditions, rough machining of steel, and processing of short chips such as cast iron. P-type rake face is open, which is good for chip removal. Generally, medium and light cutting can be selected. The S-type structure is simple and compact, and has no resistance to chip removal. It is a clamping method for counterbore inserts. It can be used with front inserts and is suitable for light cutting and small hole processing.

  • How can I quickly learn about turning tools?

    Turning tools are easy to learn and difficult to master. To understand turning tools, you must first understand the machining performance of the lathe (that is, the main turning axis and disc parts of the car) and the tool path (mainly outer circle, inner hole) , Outer groove, inner groove, face groove, cutting and thread processing), understand the relevant representation methods of tool data for turning tools, such as the representation method of tool holder and insert, and the processing route of the tool. It is best to have a look at the factory to understand the corresponding relationship between the various angles of the turning tool.   • What should be paid attention to when processing titanium alloys?

    itanium alloy turning is easy to obtain better surface roughness, work hardening is not serious, but the cutting temperature is high, and the tool wears quickly. In view of these characteristics, the following measures are mainly taken in terms of tools and cutting parameters:
    Tool geometry parameters:suitable front and rear angles of the tool, tool tip rounding. Lower cutting speed, moderate feed rate, deeper cutting depth, and sufficient cooling. When turning the outer circle, the tool tip cannot be higher than the center of the workpiece, otherwise it will be easy to pierce the tool. When finishing turning and turning thin-walled parts, the tool lead angle should be large, generally 75-90°. Titanium alloy should consider the cutting or wear resistance of the blade.
    Titanium alloy belongs to the category of non-ferrous metals, and must be cut and the blade wear-resistant. It is best to use a blade with a smaller tip angle and a larger clearance angle.

  • How to select the cylindrical tool holder and what issues should be paid attention to?

    It is very important to choose an external circular knife because of its knife square and entering angle, as well as its installed blade. The knife square is configured according to the machine. Selection of Tool Holder Head Forms There are 15 to 18 types of tool holder head types according to entering angle, straight head and offset head. The corresponding codes are specified for each form. The national standards and tool catalogs are all listed in the national standard and the tool catalog. Choose according to the actual situation. For workpieces with right-angle steps, you can choose a toolholder with a deflection angle greater than or equal to. For general rough turning, 45°~90° entering angle is optional; for fine turning, 45°~75° optional; middle cutting and profiling, optional 45°~107.5°; optional when the process system is rigid The smaller value, when the rigidity of the process system is poor, the larger value can be selected. The blade depends on the requirements of its processing drawings.
